boba update
aka random anecdote collection
lately i've been learning to like tea drinks with chewy parts in them. a lot of people don't really like the texture but I find it not too bad. honestly, the part that bothers me the most historically is that it blocks the flow of the drink when you're really thirsty, but then you shouldn't really be having a drink like that right. water is better.
there's a banh mi place near me that does a yummy brown sugar milk tea. i used to think they hated me cause they always used to put one spicy bite in my sandwich but i think it was just a mistake cause last time it didn't. the lady is always giving me a large drink even when i only pay for a regular, too.*

i recently rewatched one of my favourite videos, snarky puppy we like it here dvd interviews compilation. i was watching this recent interview with michael league and ] i found it sort of interesting (and well it makes sense how) he really made a point about how he doesn't think that's the 'peak' of the band or anything like that. I guess people tend to see it that way, I think it's their most popular record at least, and yeah. it's a great record, and it just reminded me how i like the behind the scenes a lot. that was 2013! osx 10.9 had just come out! that was like 13 years ago!

last week i was chilling on the couch reading something or other and getting really sleepy** when all of a sudden i notice there's been some kind of commotion outside for like longer than a minute, or a couple minutes. so i look outside and the street is just packed with a crowd of people all walking in one direction, presumably away from the park down the street.
eager not to miss an opportunity i grabbed my field recorder and went and sat with it with the front door open (we're on the second floor, so it felt pretty safe) listening to the people walk by and trying to work out what had gone down.
after maybe 10 or 15 minutes of this cops started to show up, in cars and on bicycles, seemingly making some half hearted attempt to get everyone off our street. I didn't go out to see where the source of it all was, and I couldn't find anyone on the internet saying anything about it, but it sounded like there had been some sort of fight. but why were like a thousand people in the park to begin with? so far I still don't know.
the whole thing reminded me of one of those dreams, where something scary is happening outside and you have to look down on it and keep checking the doors and no one else is home for some reason. eventually i think they get in the front door and I have to hide somewhere like in the fridge (?) or exit out the back way. onto the spiral stairs, and then to where?
